How To Use The Trading Pond:

Stocks posted here are not recommended trades but are posted for the convenience of our subscribers. These are trades that are based on the BottomSpringers style of momentum trading found in "The Surfer's Guide to Stock Investing."

Stocks that are currently in the Trading Pond are stocks that we are either buying or considering buying for our own portfolio and these display several characteristics of solid high momentum stocks. Our proprietary scoring model sorts and ranks stocks according to timing, safety, momentum and other factors that we have found historically often lead to substantial price gains. The timing model is similar to a bell curve and optimal entry and exit points can peak and wane over a period of a few days.

One should not assume that just because a stock is in the trading pond that it's all uphill from there. As you have or will have learned from the momentum trading courses these stocks often test and re-test levels of support before advancing further. Always keep your proper stops in place and look for possible re-entry points if the stock pulls back further and the trading action warrants an entry.

Not all stocks that are in the trading pond are necessarily ready for prime time yet, but they are generally at or near a breakout point. Some of the stocks in the trading pond may be previously triggered trades in various stages of their cycles and may be well past an optimal buy point but due to the nature of its current trading action are included for your own evaluation for short term swing trades.

Stocks in the holding pond are not necessarily stocks that should not be accumulated. Even momentum stocks that are not currently in an established up trend can quickly establish price support and turn back up. It is not recommended that you indiscriminately buy a stock in the holding pond without checking the charts. Those stocks that are exhibiting changing momentum and stability can be accumulated with proper stops in place provided that your own charting analysis determines that the trading action warrants it. Stocks that are currently in the holding pond may be previously triggered stocks that may still provide swing trading opportunities provided your current chart analysis suggests that. These same stocks may also soon be removed from the holding and trading pond list if we feel that the timing and safety are such as to make it no longer attractive.

Stocks can quickly come off the trading and holding ponds lists and be upgraded or downgraded prior to the next daily update. Subscribers can often obtain intra-day updates as to changes in the assumptions table via the BottomSpringers club on TC Net (available through Worden.com) during club hours. Due to the volume of posted trades-the daily trading pond analysis does not include after hour and pre-market trade analysis. Subscribers may during normal club hours get updates on individual stocks or any unusual pre or post market stock movements.
